CRAP!!! My rank has plummeted!

I used to have Alexia redirects on all links, but removed them a month or two ago because of Google. I wanted all of the SEO benefits, not Alexia - but that might explain the drop in Alexia rank….

Tell me more. Is that done via the title tags, or can you give an example. And then the question is if it is worth the trouble? If itcreatea a nice Alexa rank with no true traffic count, or worse a distorted view of your traffic, what is the point. Just more bragging rights?

Well DIGITALNOMAD have you ever noticed that most of the internal links in this blog are actually redirected through alexa…..
Thats one reason for the high rank I think

This is sort of off topic, but I was noticing that your Alexa rank is taking a beating since you have cut back on your posting.

I am just wondering how important you think Alexa and Technorati ranks really are? I am becoming more convinced that they both are not great traffic generators, and that there are better ways to generate traffic.

I have experimented with both Alexa and Technorati, and know for a fact that if you change the frequency of your posting, or your backlinks get old…then your ranking goes sour.

This is unfortunate, because it has nothing to do with the quality of the blog, but is a measure of consistent posting, or a backlink strategy that can be gamed. I see no evidence that Technorti provides any significant traffic. It only gives you some bragging rights. Neither one provides a blogger much, unless you are trying to do paid posts or get into some of the PPC programs.

Give us you thoughts on this Saman.

Being diligent on a course is easy when you are single… when you have a wife and kids its a lot tougher, I think thats often the hardest part for someone in your situation doing a course like this…

I’ve read articles on how employers view online schools vs brick-and-mortar schools and it really depends on the individual - but it seems as though online schools still don’t have people’s full respect yet…
