I found this on Leo Chiang’s site and I thought it was fun enough for a Friday post!
Kineda, the site that I lost to in the 2007 Blogger’s Tournament (check out the stats that I posted back then
), has created a widget that uses your Technorati stats to gauge if you’re an A-List blogger - I’m not the type to be sucked into celebrity-style lists like this, but I’m in a feisty mood today
According to the widget, here are the stats:

Your Results:
With 547 links in the last 180 days, Technorati places http://samanathon.com/ in the very high authority group.
That makes you a A-List Blogger!
I also thought this was interesting:
The Very High Authority Group [A-List Bloggers]
(500 or more blogs linking in the last 6 months)
In the final group we see what might be considered the blogging elite. This group, which represents more than 4,000 blogs, exhibits a radical shift in post frequency as well as blog age. Bloggers of this type have been at it longer – a year and a half on average – and post nearly twice a day, an increase in posting volume of over 100% from the previous group. Many of the blogs in this category, in fact, are about as old as Technorati and we’ve grown up together. Some of these are full-fledge professional enterprises that post many, many times per day and behave increasingly like our friends in the mainstream media. As has been widely reported, the impact of these bloggers on our cultures and democracies is increasingly dramatic.
It’s interesting because:
- This site is only eight months old - not a year and a half
- I did posts twice a day but have fallen to one lately
- Technorati has been around way longer then me!
- I am definitely not a “full-fledge professional enterprises”
So What Does It All Mean?
I guess it means that this hobby site is in a class with some big contenders!
I know I could be doing a lot more to promote the site - I guess this means that I should! Also, I know that I must thank my good friend, Mr. Gary Lee - if he hadn’t been including me in all of his great memes, I wouldn’t have been favorited nearly as often as I have!
Thanks Gary!
That looks like an interesting breakdown of links back to a blog. I do not think they account for link trains and such, that is why they make some generalizations of being a blog 1.5 years old and post frequency. Those assumptions are made because I figure they assume that it takes that kind of longevity and frequency of posting to garner 80+ linkbacks a month.
Nonetheless, it is cool that you are a very high authority in the blogosphere. What do I have to do to be part of your Entourage?
Well Tyson, all you have to do is comment on the site! Every week, I give out link love to my top commentators as a little “Thank You!”
By the way, Entourage is my favorite show!
Well, then I will need to stop by more often and try to provide a thought provoking comment or 10.
Entourage is a great show, the 1st season rocked, then they hit a little lull - but now it has come back stronger than the 1st season.
I just can’t get enough of the show - every week, when the credits air, I catch myself saying - “AWE!”, the show always leaves me wanting more!!
Oh, spam away buddy!
Entourage rules…and that reminds me, I need to download the latest ep!!
Woot…you the man
I’m a B-List too. I think that makes me on the same level as Big Brother winners and footballers wives.
Surfed by via Pureblogging. Is it wrong that Guile is probably the only reason I commented
He is ace though!
The only reason? Awe - damn!
The character changes randomly so you should comment more to see who else will appear!
Thanks for all your support Saman, you’ve earned a free page rank 5 link to your blog!

Saman is the best!
Nice! Thanks buddy!
Oh, and it’s: Saman=Best
“With 547 links in the last 180 days”
“This site is only eight months old - not a year and a half”
180 days is six months not a year an a half. 30 days times 6 months is 180 days.
Congratulations. Great Job
Vic

Very true Vic - but the widget isn’t calculating all of the links, just the links from the last 180 days (as you mentioned). Also, the description mentions that A-list blogs are typically a year and a half old - that’s why I stated this site is only eight months old…
That’s a crazy tool there and I am not wild about that “pink” badge. I’m a B-Lister all the way. I think I will quit now. Be careful how you type in your url.
I guess it’s far away to A-rank.. Maybe I’m in C rank, or very Low B..
