Atlanta Auto Show: Ford Bronco Concept Car
I have to say that I really like this concept, it’s a retro redesign of the 1965 Bronco! It look so aggressive, so I’m-Going-To-Climb-This-Mountain-And-Eat-It-For-Breakfast!
Specifications
From Ford’s Bronco Concept Press Release:
Its power comes from a 2.0-liter, 16-valve intercooled turbo-diesel engine tucked under the hood. First introduced on the Ford Mondeo in Europe, this engine features common-rail fuel injection technology for greater injection precision, performance and torque, without sacrificing fuel economy. The Duratorq TDCi, as its known, delivers 128 horsepower and a peak torque of 244 foot-pounds. Using Ford’s overboost function generates an even higher torque of 258 foot-pounds for a limited time under full throttle.
Adding to the Bronco concept’s power is a nitrous oxide “boost,” similar to the power enhancement function of traditional hot rods. At the press of a button, a blast of nitrous oxide is injected into the engine. During combustion, the gas is broken down into nitrogen and oxygen, allowing more fuel to burn.
What does all that mean? An extra temporary boost of up to 50 horsepower and a three-second improvement in quarter-mile times, with about 10-15 mph more top speed.

now only if O.J. had that
Still seems rather low on horsepower, good in the looks department though.
It has 258 pounds torque, so it’s built to climb! Also, this is a concept and that the production model will be different!
Woo Hoo! I really hope they do bring back the Bronco! Its a Ford Weapon that they are really missing.
I lost my old 1988 Bronco “The Beast” in ol’ El Paso…..in 1998-1999.
Remember that night a Holiday when someone tried to steal your wheels?!? That was a crazy night!
I remember many a crazy night at *Holiday. Lets see, are you talking about the night somebody tried to steal my ride or the night they literally tried to steal my tires, failed, so left the tires without nuts anyway….So I drove for a short time without nuts on my tires until it started shaking like crazy and one just about fell off?
I was refering to that night when they took all of the lugnuts! It was you, me and Kyle in the truck, driving up Union - remember?!
Holiday had some crazy nights - remember that night I got the gun pulled on me, John’s potato launcher, most nights back on the pin setters, Sideshow Mike or The Judge?!
No, I don’t actually remember the exact occurrence of where I was when I noticed what it was doing when the tire just about fell off - I just remember the bill that I had when I need to replace the wheel! For some odd reason I have trouble remembering a lot of specifics from that era
- I’m not sure why
Sideshow Mike - hahaha. Last I knew he was working at that Dominoes near Buy Back - but that was a long time ago. There isn’t even a Buy Back anymore - sad days.
Let see, there was “Zig”, “Chicago”, “Immie (or Immigrant)”. I’m trying to remember “The Judge” but for whatever reason nothing is coming to mind.
The Judge was the baseball bat - or did it have another name… like you said, for some reason, I can’t remember a lot from that time in my life…
The night with the gun was very messed up. I think that was your “I had it” night. You quit shortly after that right?
Nope, I was employed for a few more months, then got fired the day after New Years!
Wow - I didn’t remember that at all. Was I Night Manager at the time? It wasn’t me who fired you was it?
Nope, it was big Zig… I asked for New Years off, they made me work it, then fired me! Jerks!
I think I have blacked out a lot of “Holiday” on purpose. I worked there usually about 6 days a week for all that time and I’ve only been back twice since I quit 10 years ago.
I had only been back once since and that was enough…
Only if they ever sold concept cars as is . . . they wouldn’t be losing market share to Toyota!
No kidding, if they all sold their concepts, sales would be up!!

Wow, after reading the comments above it seems like you and Bobs had some pretty wild times, Saman…
It was bananas, but only because of the crazy characters we came in contact with!!
The question is are they going to build it? I am not a ford man but I like that truck!
