This has to be the most original, user created Super Mario Brothers Theme ever!

Those who know me know that I’m obsessed with the Super Mario Brother’s Theme – I’m always humming it, have it as a ring tone and am learning to play it on my harmonica. When I saw this video, I just about flipped out!

About

The kid has filled up a ton of glass bottles with the correct about of liquid to create the appropriate notes when tapped. He’s spaced the bottles apart and drives an RC Car past them, which taps them as it passes. This creates, what has to be, the most original version of the Super Mario Theme that I’ve ever heard!

A post about a fake crash landing of an Star War's X-Wing on a US Aircraft Carrier

In this secret Governemt photo, we can see that a Rebal X-Wing class fighter crash landed on the deck of the USS Long Island in 1942.

Now, we all know that a small fighter like this couldn’t have made it this far into space on it’s own – how did it get here and where is it now? Did the US Government disassemble it? What happened to it’s proton torpedoes? What about the pilot and it’s astromech droid.

I want answers people!!!!

Samanthon.com is a A-List blog - is yours?

I found this on Leo Chiang’s site and I thought it was fun enough for a Friday post!

Kineda, the site that I lost to in the 2007 Blogger’s Tournament (check out the stats that I posted back then ), has created a widget that uses your Technorati stats to gauge if you’re an A-List blogger – I’m not the type to be sucked into celebrity-style lists like this, but I’m in a feisty mood today According to the widget, here are the stats:

Your Results:

With 547 links in the last 180 days, Technorati places http://samanathon.com/ in the very high authority group.

That makes you a A-List Blogger!

I also thought this was interesting:

The Very High Authority Group [A-List Bloggers]
(500 or more blogs linking in the last 6 months)
In the final group we see what might be considered the blogging elite. This group, which represents more than 4,000 blogs, exhibits a radical shift in post frequency as well as blog age. Bloggers of this type have been at it longer – a year and a half on average – and post nearly twice a day, an increase in posting volume of over 100% from the previous group. Many of the blogs in this category, in fact, are about as old as Technorati and we’ve grown up together. Some of these are full-fledge professional enterprises that post many, many times per day and behave increasingly like our friends in the mainstream media. As has been widely reported, the impact of these bloggers on our cultures and democracies is increasingly dramatic.

It’s interesting because:

This site is only eight months old – not a year and a half

I did posts twice a day but have fallen to one lately

Technorati has been around way longer then me!

I am definitely not a “full-fledge professional enterprises”

So What Does It All Mean?

I guess it means that this hobby site is in a class with some big contenders! I know I could be doing a lot more to promote the site – I guess this means that I should! Also, I know that I must thank my good friend, Mr. Gary Lee – if he hadn’t been including me in all of his great memes, I wouldn’t have been favorited nearly as often as I have!

Thanks Gary!

Sony ran a PSP promotion in Italy that gave Italian students a way to play their PSP’s during class: Fake books that make it appear that they’re reading Dante’s “The Divine Comedy” at school when in fact they are playing a Sony PlayStation Portable!
The Online Warning Label Generator has ten different styles, 45 Warning Symbols and up to six lines of text – you can go crazy creating your own warning labels!! The possibilities really are limitless!

This is pretty fun! What crazy warning labels can you all come up with?!

I was tagged by Julie for her Obsessive Thoughts and, in the spirit of the blogging community, I’ll post my five obsessions then tag five other bloggers. Five of my obsessions are:

My Family – I love my wife and kids, there is nothing more important to me then my girls! I love being married to my best friend and having daughters. They are the reason why I get up in the morning and the reason why I am still alive today – I LOVE YOU GIRLS!

Technology – I can’t explain why, but I am obsessed with anything tech! Computers, cars, ATM’s, talking dolls, garage door openers – EVERYTHING! I love hacking this stuff too: I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want your toaster to operate by remote!!!

Cars/Speed – This one has gotten me into too much trouble in the past, and now with a family, I can’t afford to risk my live driving fast anymore but I love cars! I can tell you the make, model and year of a car from the headlights – at night.

Sushi – Must I explain?! I am a Sushi Nut, I can’t get enough!

Blogging – This one is a relatively new one for me but I am hooked! I love connecting with so many people and I love writing – which is odd because I hated it in school! I love this site because it’s pushing me to learn so much more then I ever have before: I am getting to know PHP and I have expanded my CSS knowledge a lot. Also, I am learning a lot of other Windows tips and tricks as I hack the Registry and write for you guys!

Alright, there’s my list. I’m tagging Stephen Fung, Derek Semmler, Bobs, Shawn Knight and Jon Lee. Blog on!

Dear Japanese Citizens,

I am happy to announce that I have successfully defeated Godzilla. I apologize for the destruction of the Takashi Corporate Tower, District 51 firehouse, City Hall and all 172 nuclear power plants. Although there were many, many losses of life, you can rest calmly in your beds tonight knowing that The Terror is gone.

I have appointed myself as “Country Commander”. You can expect many new laws now that I am running the show.

You do not need to thank me.

Love,

We got a little nutty at work the other day and this is the result: We had a malfunctioning Linksys 8 port hub. The little device worked well for a long time, but could take packets no more So we decided to send it off with some style!

Step One:

Grab the nearest hole making device, we used a drill. You can use anything: spoon, gun, your teeth – whatever will work!

Step Two:

Break the circuit board. Not really necessary – but why not?! We used a combination of scissor kicks and the slam-against-concrete method.

Step Three:

Wire your chain. I used speaker wire. Why? WHY NOT?! The sheath on this wire was clear, the negative wire was silver colored and the positive was copper colored. Definitely added to the “Bling Factor”!! Notice that I used correct wire splicing technique – minus the soldering gun!

Step Four:

Show off your Geek Bling and getz yourself some mad-honeys yo!

Yeah, I’m hard-core. Believe it or not, I walked around Washington D.C. for two days wearing this!
