Just got into Las Vegas today and after a stop at In-N-Out, I went to work. Even though I work CES every year, I am shocked by the sheer size of this show! I can’t wait to check out the exhibit hall. Here are some pictures for now, enjoy!
My Driver

My sister picked me up from the airport. I came down the escalator and saw her standing in a row with the limo drivers, and she was holding this sign!
Mobile Mobile?

Here is a mobile cell tower parked at the Residence Inn, which is across from the Convention Center. I guess there is so much cell traffic that they had to bring in the extra muscle!
CES Baby!

Here I am!
Have Cases, Will Travel

Here are my road cases, ready to be set!
HD Plasma Wall 1

Here is the wall where I will hang two 42″ HD Hitachi plasmas.

Getting the wall mount hung.
HD Plasma Wall 3

I got the box open and am setting the plasma mount. These screens are fresh from the factory, they don’t even have road cases yet!
HD Plasma Wall 4

Another shot.

Still working . . .

Running source cables, YBR for video and RCA for audio.

Time to hang number one.

TILT TO LOCK!
HD Plasma Wall 9

Wall mount for number two.
HD Plasma Wall 10

They are hung, now I have to do some cable management.
2 HD Decks, Sitting In A . . .

These are my two HD decks. I noticed they are very similar: same button layout, display messages and controls . . . reference design?
HD DVD Remotes

Here are the HD DVD remotes, that is my LG 8100 for scale.
Left:Toshiba A-1 HD Remote
Right: RCA HDV5000 HD Remote.
HD DVD Media

The HD DVD’s we’ll be playing are Chicago & Earth, Wind & Fire: Live at the Greek Theater and Superman.
Main Aisle

A shot of one of the main aisles in Central Hall, notice there is no aisle carpet - it’s still a setup day!
Rehearsal Time

The Panasonic booth is huge! These are eight 85″ HD screens synced to the performers on stage. This is during rehearsal and I was pretty impressed with the show! Notice the LD (Lighting Designer) still has is desk (lighting board/console) out. He was working on the cues as I took this shot.
Welcome To The . . .

Microsoft is advertising all over the place, I can’t wait to check out their booth!
Games For Microsoft

Yes folks, this is a three story parking garage that they wrapped on two sides with a banner. How much do you think that banners cost, not to mention the cost of advertising?!
