If you are a regular visitor to Samanathon.com, you might have noticed that I’ve moved my sidebar from the right to the left of the main content. I did this because the iTheme is becoming so popular, I thought I’d try to make the site stand out a bit…
What do you think?
Try to approach that question with an open mind (I can’t seem too, the site just doesn’t “feel” right with the sidebar on the left).
Here is a link to an image comparing the two different versions. So, any comments/suggestions? 
I like it better bud. I think studies also show this is a better layout because of the way we read, eye movement, and all that junk…
That’s actually one of the reasons that I changed it, I’ve been reading some design books!

You’re right though, they do suggest that a reader’s natural eye moment will start on the left and go down so important links should be on the left!
With natural eye movement going from left to right and top to bottom, wouldn’t you want your content to be the first thing the reader latches on to? I guess that might depend on the goal but that is my personal preference.
I like the sidebar on the right. Now that you have it on the left, I feel all off balance while on this pageeeeee…sorry, I fell of my chair. Put it back on the right!
Good point - people will still see the content, but now they’ll see the sidebar more often too!
I liked the old design better, like you said, the site just doesn’t feel right with the bar on the left. Not sure why but I think it’s because I expect a navigational bar on the left which isn’t really the case on your site. All those shiny MyBlogLog avatars also distract my eye more when they are on the left
I’ve actually thought about removing them, they don’t really server a purpose and they slow page loads….
it looks weird, but I guess i’ll get used to it.
why not make a completely new theme? So no other blog will have that theme.
One thing for sure, the sidebar on the left is just not “right”

I like seeing my name on the left where my eye goes first
I like it! But it will take some time to get used to it.
You just need to align the search bar with the right side of the main content.
