This is a post that is related to this one about my external hard drive failing.

I think I’m in luck! I just tried another drive in my enclosure and it failed too! That means that the enclosure is, more then likely, the problem! YOOHOOO!!!! So, I plan on hitting up Best Buy in the morning and buying another external enclosure.

Also, our new Dell arrived today! Which is another reason I need the external. I need to transfer all of our data and since our old machine was failing, I can’t connect it to our network to do the data transfer. I can’t just slap the old drive in the new machine because the old drive is Parallel ATA and the new machine is Serial ATA. Speaking of the new machine: We got hooked up big time! This is what I have discovered so far (it’s late, I’ll know more tomorrow):
