I believe the English language is supposedly one of the most difficult to learn because it has so many instances that do not follow any standard rules.
Hope they were well rewarded for participating in this game.

I learned English, French and German at school and from those three English was definitely the easiest

I have heard just the opposite. Both European and Asian friends have told me that English is very easy to learn. I have tried to learn some Mandarin…total disaster.

well actually english isn’t my first language. Tagalog is, and that’s what I speak at home. I don’t even remember learning english, but I know it happened sometime during grades 1 to 6 or something… but it mustn’t have been that hard to learn

yes I heard that the inconsistencies made it harder to learn English but I think the grammar rules are simpler than many other western languages which might make it easier to talk English if not to write it. Can’t imagine learning Mandarin or Japanese..must be difficult. Vietnamese is a tonal language too so that is also very difficult I’ve been told.
