Finally, after so many years, a game console for all demographics young and old alike. The Wii is the fifth video game console from Nintendo is and made to target a more general audience. Although the gaming world has come a long way, it still only had a small demographic which consisted of 18-34 year old men. For the most part, video games are targeted towards men. Anything from fights, to hunts, to races, you name it– it’s all a guy’s pick!
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
So of course the video game demographic is mostly men since there are no games for girls! I’m not saying they don’t exist, but you really don’t hear much about them. They’re not advertised on TV and I haven’t seen many on the Internet. Even so, there are a few out there, but just not enough to make me go out and buy a Playstation or an Xbox because it wouldn’t do justice for my money– there just aren’t enough games!
Thanks to the Nintendo Wii though, girls and women everywhere can enjoy a full gaming experience that is targeted towards them. The Wii can not only be enjoyed by women, but by men, children, and even grandparents! It’s an interactive game that engages the player into full action and is so much fun to play!
The Wii consists of a very small console and a remote control. The remote is used to control all of the functions of the Wii. With it, you play the games by moving it whichever way you need to in order to make your moves. If you have to move left in the game, move your remote to the left and that’s all there is to it!
Games
It’s not only extremely easy to play, but it is loads of fun! The games are very fun and adventurous and can be played in teams. Try Tiger Woods PGA Tour, it’s like playing real golf, and it’s extremely easy, you’ll feel like a pro! All you have to do is hold the remote, and swing yours arms as if you were holding an actual golf club.
Another game I love on the Wii is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It has a compelling story line, amazing graphics, and an outstanding word and puzzle design. It’s pretty much the same adventurous story line, except it has a few twists and turns in there that make it so much fun to play on the Wii.
Prince of Persia Rival Swords is another great game that is fun to play in two. Move your remote to swing your sword at your enemy– it’s a very interactive game that lets players move around and actually experience the game to its fullest.
Final Thoughts
I can honestly say that the Wii is worth trying, as it’s unlike any other game console you’ve tried before. It’s not your original sit down on the couch with a control game, but rather a more engaging and action packed experience. You get to move around, and actually perform the actions of the game, which makes any game that much better.
Nice job on your first post!!
I was a huge fan of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64, did you ever play it Aniela - or anyone else? How do they compare?
I used to play it all the time. The Wii version is more engaging, and more fun in my opinion.
No I’ve never played that.. I was more of a fan of the original NES.. super mario bros!
Nice first post!! I’ve only played the Wii once, and that was in the mall over christmas. It was fun, me and my friend played against each other in front of a crowded mall..haha…it was fun, but I haven’t had a chance to play one since…so..I need to win the one from John Chow and 1234Pens.com
Nice post Aniela. Being one beyond the 18-34 range, I could only enjoy reading it. Saman has gone some extra miles to make this happened and I believe with this kind of cooperations, our community will grow bigger and stronger. Good job guys!
I used to be the biggest Sony Fanboy but I’m afraid that the PS3 is just not on my list at the moment. If I was going to get something I would probably buy the Wii. Simply because it’s fun. Blu-Ray is impressive technology but fun is what we all really want.
Hey Frank, you’re not an XBOX 360 fan at all? I haven’t played the PS# or the Wii yet, but I was impressed with the 360
i’ve always loved nintendo, and it’s not just bc i’m japanese, and i’m a girl.
but i agree xbox and ps are not really targeted for women. my favorite game of all time (so far) is super mario cart double dash. i challenge anyone here to beat me!
I’ve always liked Nintendo over the PS and Xbox.
I bought the NES the day it came out and have things like the light gun, the superscope, the power glove and the little robot!
Only Nintendo devices I don’t own is the Nintendo DS and the Wii.
Now.. if they could come out with a new Final Fantasy for Nintendo I’d hunt around the world for my very own Wii.
So, did you ever count how many times you typed the word “wii” ? I think Jimi would be interested to see if you beat him! hahaha
I can’t wait to win that Wii from John Chow
I’ve only briefly played with a Nintendo Wii at one of our local malls. It was fun! I love how its more interactive and can give you a workout
