I’m sure that some of you are too young to remember the 80’s - they sucked. Here is a video to help prove my point, remember: Every video, TV show and movie in the 80’s were this bad!
They were all cheesy - and not just by contemporary standards, they were just as bad back then.
Here is a clip from the 12 minute video, make sure you watch at least the first half - I promise it’s worth it!
Can you imagine the room full of Microsoft executives when they fist saw this video?!
“GREAT JOB!”
“That’s exactly what we were looking for!”
Imaging the ad agency - this is the idea that made it! Consider the ideas that were too awful to produce! ![]()

Oh my … the ridiculousness … it’s all too much!
Sadly I can remember some things from the 80’s, but I think I had blocked them from my memory. The huge glasses, the huge floppy disks … the belief that rapping everything makes it cool …
“the belief that rapping everything makes it cool”
No kidding! How ridiculous!!
ohh man.. that’s crazy.. that’s probably the most cheesy video I’ve ever seen.
the ending is the funniest.. I can’t believe the original was 12 min long.. this ver was already long enough!
I was working at a company trying to assemble the 6800 Processor (if I remember it correctly) into microcomputer to compete against the Z80 based PC that dominated the market at that time. The Floppy was 8 inch.
The memory, either 32K or 64K.
We imported the Technology from Japan to Indonesia from a company called SORD (SOftwarehaRDware), later aquired by Toshiba. Microsoft was still crawling at that time. No windows. But soon our company was belly up due to the influx of IBM PCs into the market.
I could understand why the window was such a big jump at that time.
BTW, the most popular game at the time was a game called Digger. Don’t know how many of this bloggers generation remember that game. That was back in 83-84. Don’t know anything that happens in this side of the hemisphere at that time.
Board Room High Fives All Around!
The movies in the 80s were not ALL BAD….one of the best movies from the 80s is what originally got me interested in computers…..you know I am talking about WarGames of course!
“Shall we play a game?”
You can definitely tell that movies were going to start getting better in the 90s as the 80s finished off with the masterpiece of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Don’t forget Weekend at Bernie’s!
the sequel was just as good!
You know I showed this to you!!
Next time keep your pants on
The video you showed isn’t on YouTube anymore!
But, you’re right - Thanks!
I remember getting one of these and having to use a program to slow the computer down as the games ran to fast on it. Our had a “turbo” button to give an extra kick for those heavy applications.
