The Windows Context Menu appears when you Right-Click an object, whether it’s the Desktop or a file. I’m sure you’ve used it. The problem is, it’s missing some very basic options! We’re going to change all of that: I’m starting series on hacking the Windows Context Menu, follow along kiddies – this is going to be fun!
Add And Remove Destinations For The “Send To” Option
The right-click context menu has a very useful option that I use all of the time: Send To. It allows you to send the file you’ve right-clicked, to any hard drive, program, folder or even a email recipient – as long as it’s listed. One problem is, when you install new programs, they usually add their own options that you’ll never use. This leaves the context menu a cluttered mess littered with options and lacking several basic, useful ones!
You can edit this list and add new programs & destinations and remove ones you wont use. All of these items are held in a hidded folder in your user’s folder. Hit the Window’s Key+R and type this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\SendTo
The folder should have some shortcuts to all the locations you find on your Send To context menu. To remove one, simply delete the shortcut! To add an item, you need to add a shortcut to the folder: Right-Click in the folder, and click File->New Shortcut

Fill in all of the fields in the Create Shortcut wizard. The new locations will show up immediately, you don’t have to exit Windows Explorer or Restart!
No time for the screencast this time? Could you not get the praising crowd together for the intro?
